Last week, the UN General Assembly came to an end, one of the most important weeks of the year, as world leaders converge to address current global issues.

The relentless war declared by Israel against other Middle Eastern countries and Venezuelan migration were key topics on the agenda, but Colombia did not go unnoticed, and not only because of Gustavo Petro’s intervention. Colombia was represented by one of the most talented women in the current music scene: talking about Karol G is talking about success and hard work. Her social work empowering women, girls, and boys through her foundation, Con Cora, earned her the Ibero-American Impact Award. This recognition is given within the framework of the UN General Assembly as the only event in Spanish celebrated during high-level week. It is awarded to recognize the efforts of entrepreneurial leaders from various fields who make time in their schedules to work for a sustainable future, contributing to the creation and reconstruction of the social fabric.
The award was presented on September 27 by UN Women
Con Cora Fundation goes above and beyond by doing a little of everything, although in practice it is a great deal. They provide support to young athletes, offer artistic learning workshops for women, and provide psychological, spiritual, and financial assistance to pregnant teenagers as well as incarcerated and post-incarcerated women. All of them come from low-income backgrounds and are fully deserving of an opportunity. It is said that «those who take on too much, achieve little,» but in this case, that is not true. Addressing all these issues is an act of great generosity and altruism in a world where surviving becomes more difficult every day.
