Delincuentes usan IA en WhatsApp para robar cuentas

Los ciberdelincuentes han desarrollado una nueva estrategia para robar cuentas de WhatsApp, conocida como el “círculo de la IA”. Usan inteligencia artificial y técnicas de ingeniería social para engañar a los usuarios, haciéndose pasar por contactos confiables o cuentas verificadas.

La estafa emplea números internacionales, como el prefijo +358 (Finlandia), y perfiles con el círculo azul asociado a Meta AI. Mediante mensajes urgentes y personalizados, los atacantes buscan generar confianza y obtener datos sensibles, como el código de verificación de WhatsApp.

Si la víctima sigue los enlaces fraudulentos, se le solicita información personal o el código, permitiendo a los estafadores secuestrar la cuenta, extorsionar a contactos o acceder a datos privados, incluidos los bancarios. Mantente alerta y no compartas códigos de verificación.
